Fond du Lac ZIP Range
An official USPS postal bulletin lists Fond du Lac in the 54935 through 54937 range. That confirms the postal range, not the precise street boundary of each code. The inspected federal source did not identify neighborhood edges, delivery-station names, or PO-box-only and unique-code classifications. A sound postal directory must preserve those limits and send each exact address through the USPS lookup.
| ZIP Code | Areas Covered | Post Office | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 54935 | Fond du Lac postal range; many city and county government addresses use it | Exact station not established | Verify the street address; no official inspected boundary was available |
| 54936 | Included in the official Fond du Lac range | Exact station not established | Neighborhood and delivery class were not established by the inspected source |
| 54937 | Fond du Lac range; also used by a North Fond du Lac municipal address | Exact station not established | Do not equate the code with the village limit |
The 54937 example shows why postal names are not jurisdiction labels. Lakeside Municipal Court uses a North Fond du Lac address in 54937, yet the research does not support treating every address in that code as North Fond du Lac. Likewise, 54935 appears on the City/County Government Center, but that does not establish its whole delivery area. Keep unknown classifications marked as unknown rather than assigning codes to invented neighborhoods.
Verify Fond du Lac ZIP Codes
The USPS ZIP Code Lookup has three useful modes. Address mode asks for a street line, city and state, with company, unit and ZIP fields available for narrowing. City and State mode returns the ZIP codes recognized for a place. Cities by ZIP reverses the question and reports the recommended city names tied to a code.
| USPS control | Required input | What it resolves |
|---|---|---|
| Address | Street, city and state | Delivery ZIP for a full address; unit can narrow the match |
| City & State | City and state | ZIP choices tied to a postal city name |
| Cities by ZIP | ZIP code | Recommended or recognized delivery city names |
| Company | Optional in address mode | Helps narrow a business delivery point |
| Apt/Suite/Other | Optional when applicable | Distinguishes units at one street address |
A valid result confirms a postal combination, not the presence of a named person or company. When USPS returns more than one code for Fond du Lac, enter the full street and unit. Treat that address result as the postal fact, then use county records for parcel and jurisdiction facts.
Fond du Lac Postal Geography
Fond du Lac is both a city and the county seat. County departments serve a much wider area than the city line, even when their mailing address says Fond du Lac. North Fond du Lac is a separate village, and rural county roads fall under towns and county addressing systems. These layers explain why the postal city on an envelope may not name the governing municipality.
County Land Information and County 911 administer rural address numbers. The driveway location and road authority matter before an address is issued: a town road may need town approval, a county trunk highway goes through the County Highway Department, and a state or federal highway goes through WisDOT. Permits may also be required. None of those jurisdiction facts can be derived from a ZIP alone.
Keep four fields. Record the ZIP, municipality, site address and owner mailing address separately; agreement is useful, but one never substitutes for another.
Find Fond du Lac Residents by ZIP
No inspected local portal offered a verified open list of all residents within a ZIP. The county tax search accepts owner name, parcel number or site address, but no direct ZIP filter was confirmed. The GIS viewer can connect an address to parcel and municipal context. MyVote accepts a ZIP only as part of a matched voter's address search. Postal grouping is therefore a narrowing tool, not a household roll.
- Enter the complete address in USPS lookup. Save the recommended city and delivery ZIP as postal fields.
- Find the address in Fond du Lac County GIS. Record the parcel, municipality and district layers separately.
- Use the county real-estate and tax search by site address, parcel or owner. Label the result as ownership and mailing evidence.
- Use MyVote Wisconsin only for a matched voter through name and birth date or complete address, city and ZIP.
- For a formal voter-file extract, submit a written request under Wis. Admin. Code EL ยง3.50 and expect protected elector data to be withheld.
Once the postal range has been reduced to a known road, the Fond du Lac street directory explains the address-level record chain. That step is more exact than searching by ZIP, because parcels and deeds use a site address, parcel number and legal description.
Fond du Lac ZIP Voter Fields
MyVote address mode requires a street address, city and ZIP code, with a unit field when needed. Name mode instead requires first name, last name and birth date. These are identity-matching controls. They do not create a public 54935, 54936 or 54937 roster.
A successful match may show current registration, participation history, elected officials and ballot-service tools. It never reveals ballot choices. If a Fond du Lac voter's address or status is wrong, the City Clerk is the correction contact. Broader voter lists can be requested through the proper election official, but charges and protected-data rules apply. Safe at Home confidential electors are excluded from public inspection.
The official MyVote page shown in this capture illustrates why the ZIP field must be paired with a full address or a named voter's identity.
The form is a personal voter-service route, so it should never be described as a ZIP-wide resident directory.
ZIP, Situs and Mailing Address
A situs address is the physical location assigned to a parcel. An owner mailing address is where a tax bill or notice goes. Those may differ, and the mailing address may even be outside Fond du Lac. The county tax system can expose both relationships, but neither proves that the owner lives at the parcel.
Legal descriptions add a fourth system. A deed may identify subdivision, lot and block, a plat, a certified survey map, or metes and bounds rather than relying on the postal line. County GIS requires a 16-digit parcel identification number with dashes. When the postal ZIP and municipal label conflict, the parcel number and legal description keep the land-record trail stable.
Note: County parcel data is a discovery aid; the Register of Deeds holds the legal documents that control the ownership chain.
Fond du Lac Annexation Clues
Official Town of Fond du Lac parcel-map annotations record annexations in 1999 and 2002, with ordinance and recorded-document numbers. That is a useful bridge when an older record names a town but a current parcel sits within the city. Search the ordinance or document number in city and deed records instead of assuming the ZIP caused the change.
No official street-renaming year or ZIP realignment date was located. Older directories, plats, Sanborn maps and deed legal descriptions can bridge an old address to a current parcel. Historic city directories may also predate the modern ZIP system, so search them by the street and house number printed in that volume rather than adding today's ZIP.
Fond du Lac ZIP Boundary Limits
A ZIP is a USPS delivery area, not a municipal boundary. Fond du Lac city, North Fond du Lac, rural roads and county office addresses can share postal wording that does not identify the correct government. Check USPS for delivery, GIS for municipality and parcel context, and the tax roll for site and owner-mailing fields. This three-way comparison is the core limit of postal lookup.
- ZIP vs ZIP+4
- A five-digit ZIP covers a delivery area; ZIP+4 narrows delivery to a smaller segment such as a block, building or group of boxes.
- PO-box ZIP
- A code used for post-office boxes rather than ordinary street delivery. The inspected Fond du Lac sources did not classify any of the three codes this way.
- Unique ZIP
- A code assigned to one high-volume organization. No unique Fond du Lac ZIP was established in the inspected official material.
- Carrier route
- The delivery path assigned to a postal carrier, which can divide a ZIP into smaller working areas without becoming a city boundary.
USPS did not provide exact street-by-street edges in the captured research, and Census city figures are not ZIP population counts. Census ZIP Code Tabulation Areas also differ from live delivery codes. Good ZIP code lookup work states that uncertainty rather than converting city totals into postal statistics.
